Duck Egg Pancakes - Cooked in Sandwich Maker

Having had some minute luck with making omeletts and pancakes with goose eggs which would have gone better if had more me time. I had a go at making some pancakes from a free range duck egg. I was going to use the frying pan but it was horribly coated in sauage lard so to hell with theat and my brain got the idea of sandwich maker.

Ingredients:
1 x Free Range Duck Egg 92g (10g of which is shell)
flour
milk

1 x Free Range Duck Egg 92.6g (10.3g of which is shell)
Yolk would be whole if shell was not so tough, a feature I like about duck eggs.



Add Milk and Flour, it is better to add the milk to the flour rather than the flour to the milk/egg mix. I did not do this and the result was lumpy batter.





The results
3 triangler pancake from the mix a lot more if Goose egg is used as Goose eggs are 100g heavier. The taste is not bad at all, considering. I like the pancake maker idea and will have to do it again. Just will have to be careful pouring as the mix when cooking swells up a great deal. Overall a great idea and it has helped me start to eat eggs again, still does nothing for the suphur though.

Why Can I Not Sign In With firefox?

Why do i have to sign in with IE7 to be able to use this site? currently this is annoying the hell out of me. Firefox appears to be doing nothing. just redirects to the dashboard and counts me as a visitor which screws the stats up. ~Not happy with this.

April 1st Fools Day - I Feel unhappy

This a day for fools and mad men they say. My new computer is not to be it seems, for I have no money this year for it. A fool is easily parted from his money excepting when he has no money. Havent even got the old pc repaired and still not sure if I can repair it at all. I do not feel good at all, I am still cut off by so called friends who will not speak to me. Money is a terrible thing to those with it. I havent got it and really could hve used some of it. They fucking had enough, why the cuttoff, the lack of comms? I had no god complex like the turk so why do they leave me in the dirt as they continue above me. I am not happy. I still have no bed yet even which grinds at me, yet more money and less space for my stuff yet I need it soon. I am waiting on goose eggs in next days to give me some thing to enjoy, yet the lack of my room and bed prevents this. I am not happy. I want to save my files if I can from my old pc and possible be forced to use the google cloud as storage. So many files lost though so many years, I am unhappy over this. I have ideas I wish to get out of my mind into the world of 3D so I can view and manipulate it. I am felling as though I am slipping back to the old days when thing were very dark indeed. Probably why they are a horrible blur of time and lost memories to me. Not that memories of abuse are what you need to recall. Dark times in the mind indeed. Were it not for this old laptop I would be lost further in the dark. for it allows be to find a path of sorts out of the darkness. A dim path perhaps at time when the sodding graphics controller/connection on this thing gos bonkers but still a path I can use to avoid falling again. There are days the path grows dim and the beast within looks out and it wonders "whom shall I bite". There are days when the dark beast is prodded and poked by those why seek money, lots of money just to punish him for looking for work. So the beast growls and hurls and tears at it self fro it cannot render its enemy apart. It speaks to others and finds the enemy is a total thieving bastard in the views of many. Yet the beast seems the calander days slide past and knows it will have to pay the enemy for others would seek it dead it it dos not. The beast is unhappy, and the beast bides his time in hope of a brighter path again.

My PC is Dying on Me, Posting Delayed/Stopped

My pc has decied to stop working for me. It is a hard ware problem with it no getting no bad it freezes before completing the start page. The automated attempts at reparing it probably made the problem worse in time. The Hdd is 5 years old and has had enough. With all the files it has had to keep track of due to dropbox "War for the Overworld" files it really is no suprice it packed up on me. Not happy with this as was hoping to get soemthing from hangin with them for the last year, all I get is a stupid NDA and being cut off. I am a fucking unhappy camper. Lack of comms is one thing that really bugs the shit out of me. On a side note as I no longer am doing what makis me happy on the pc I am doing my room up so it more livable and less storage room. A dedicated pc desk is planned and a new PC is more than likly something to look for at least in the future.

Mad brewing Idea - Monster Ripper Turbocider

Exactly as the title says, I intend to have a go in next few days of doing a rather Mad Idea grade brew. Namely to get one of my cans of Monster ripper, the green ones,  and ferment to make an alcoholic drink out of it.
Monster ripper has preservatives in it that will probably need to be boiled out and then I will put the cooled down mixture into a glass bottle add yeast and hope I knocked out the preservatives enough. Got me a 1 liter bottle from Adare Farm Milk which is non homogenized so taste better even if ts €2.35 a liter. This should be good enough to do my brew in.

Time messed in last 75 images

Found out I has messed the time stamp in the last 75 or so images I had put on flickr. The catch for the batteries had came loose and when i reset the time from its default of 2007. It was 12 hours behind for not catching the 24hr vs 12 clock thing. Very annoying as I had to go in and fix the damm lot of them. I am still not quite sure with some due to an 1 hour gap i am not quite sure what the hell i was doing.

I have seen today that flickr has a new fancy and quite annoying uploader for pics. You will say it is better and oh so great, i like the "old" one. Why, simple it is faster to just select the file and have its name showing loading and then add the description, instead of selecting a file and having to wait to load each file and the lousy way of adding descriptions, old method is better and much faster for me as i dont have a damm fast broadband. Hell what is called broadband in this country is illegal in most other places to be called broadband due to its slowness. They only upped it to 2.5 when forced to by being the slowest, they are currently fucking slow and and want too dam much money for even a shitty 8 line the fasstest you can get. its complete bollix when a damm moblile phone can have speeds of 67m in Japan. Flickr, i hope do not force this "new" uploaded upon people as for me its too slow and annoying. i have a pc dammit not a showoff phone running a damm app.

01 Vitafit Turbocider - 1st Bottle

First bottle of the first batch of Vitafit Apple Juice Turbocider. A 250ml Nobelaner bottle was chosen due to the high ABV I had decided to make this one.
15%ABV minimum is what it should be. Given the Surge problem and samples am slightly unsure of actual ABV.

A Blushing Blonde - First Thoughts

Up for A Brew - A Blushing Blonde.
Beer that is. Have had it in my head for a while to brew me a pink beer and A Blushing Blonde is supposed to be pink or even Pink! This would look very nice I think for a summer brew

The basics:
Coopers Canadian Blonde
1kg Coopers Brew Enhancer 1 (700g Dextrose, 300g Maltodextrin)
500g frozen berries (in mesh bag, added on day 2)
23lt Water
21°C for 10 days

For the main fermentation
Think I will go for 20°C for 2 wks in the water bath, which is my usual routine.

Still not quite sure on Primary or secondary addition of the fruit.
Personally of the mind to do a bit of both, so I get both the colour and keep more of the colour and smell of the fruit.

Claims email is part of MSN Featured Offer Newsletter, now if it was really from them I would be even more pissed. As it is I am pissed off with the email cloning monkey shaggers. Muntons Santa's Winter Warmer Beer - Brewday

This is the Muntons Santa's Winter Warmer kit.
Contains the 2 1.6kg 1.4lt cans of extract.
Pack of yeast 6g
and a info leaflet showing some general brewing notes and the other beers in the range.

Instructions for brewing. I got slightly confused with the 36 metric pints = 18ltr thing and ended up with 19lt of wort, not 20.5lt as supposed to have.
The kit means 36 Imperial pints each 568ml not Metric pints Each 500ml. Basically I am 3 pints short. This means I underbrewed, which will result in a stronger brew. It also means I have less to drink.

Both big cans of muntons santa winter warmer are in the fermenter after warming the cans up on both sides. Very dark colour and strong taste to this beer unlike what I have done before.
Both tins filled with boiling water and tossed in fermenter as well to get the maximum out and increased boiling water content.

All mixed up including the cold water to the 19lt mark whih i had got into head was basically right, I was worried I had actually gone over with the water. Its only now I realise I was short.

The Wort is given a good stir and agitation to get the oxygen down into the wort and doubly make sure it will be all mixed up correctly.

Muntons Winter Warmer hydrometer reading a O.G. 1.054. should finish in the range of a F.G. of 1.015.
I like how the photo actually worked this time without blurring and the hydrometer actually pointed in right direction. Also distint lack of the damm fogging which usually shows when I take readings.

The stick on Thermometer described as "Large Self Adhesive Liquid Crystal Thermometer (10
to 40 oC, Vertical" is a POR. I don't like it and it don't seem to be working for shit either.
Supposed to be displaying 24-25°C.

I have the muntons winter warmer beer in a box lined with foam sheet and the white packing foam. No 2nd waterbath so I have to use primitive methods like this. Enough crap I get when doing this, imagine the crap when the kegs show up and I'm looking for a fridge.
One thing remove airlock before moving fermenter, or you lose some of your vodka.

Have taken the fermenter and coveded it up as best I can to try and keep the heat in. Not much sign of a krasen yet. Thee is some acivity with a rush of c02 from the airlock andf the lid is domed with pressure. I believe that airlocks have to wear in. The Triple which went like a lunatic with the waterbath heating it used the airlock from the Coopers canadian blonde. The bubble of co2 slips around the loop much easier than this one which "sticks" despite the pressure.

Turbo Cider - with Capri Sun and Rio Doro Sun Shots drinks packs

I have gone and made an attempt at a turbo cider made with Capri Sun and Rio Doro Sun Shots drinks packs. They are small 200ml packs with an SG of juice is 1.044 near as I can make out on the hydrometer. This is 24g of sugar


Absolut vodka used as mini Demijohn.
newest turbo cider is Capri-Sun and 2 x "sun shots" by Rio Doro which are aldi version of the drink.

Contains
1 x Capri-Sun (contains 10.5g sugar per 200ml)
2 x Sun shots (each contains 11.2g sugar per 200ml)
50g of plain sugar tesco brand
50ml tap water
Absolute bottle 700ml (1 L is better but I not have.)
Youngs Wine Super Yeast Compound 1/4th teaspoon

Mix sugar and warmish water until mostly mixed, wait till cools to 25c°C. Add the yeast wait for 1hr to get going, add rest of juice. Shake the hell out of it to oxygenate it for yeast to breath, take SG.
SG of juice 1.034
OG of final mix 1.065.
A padded envelope makes a insulated jacked / mess container of just the right size for this botle.
No bubbler airlock as the cap is closed to touching and rotated back 1/8 turn. Since the Absolut bottle cap is a bit sloppy it will when about right rise and make a clap on coming down as it works as dry airlock.

Coopers Canadian Blonde Kit - look at

Coopers Canadian Blonde Kit a metal can of extract required for making beer. There was a small dent as it was not boxed aside from 1" of foam bubble wrap stuck to base.

Home Brewing Kit

I have decided to try my hand at home brewing a beer for myself. there are no Local home brewing shops in my county so its online for me. Otherwise its a 100 mile round trip, sod that i can get delivered for fiver.

Ordered a BrewSmarter Premium Starter Beer Kit with is the bottler and heater belt and a 33lt fermenter & Coopers Canadian Blonde kit as a upgrade. Got the Brewing sugar as recommended and the Coopers Carbonation drops. Also got various paddles and a capper for glass bottle then bought 2 packs of Coopers Ox-Bar 500ml PET bottles as they are supposed to keep the beer good for longer with a special coating.
